NTF Applauds Senate Action on Top Food Safety Post Nomination
Washington, D.C.
The National Turkey Federation (NTF) released a statement today in support of the advancement of Dr. Mindy Brashears’ nomination for Undersecretary for Food Safety within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).
“Food safety is the top priority of the turkey industry, and we need strong leadership at USDA to help guide these policies at the federal level,” said Joel Brandenberger, NTF president. “Dr. Mindy Brashears’ experience in academia and food safety research, as well as her clear passion for enhancing consumer education on food safety, makes her an excellent selection for the position of Undersecretary for Food Safety. NTF applauds the leadership of Senators Roberts and Stabenow in advancing Dr. Brashears’ nomination through the Senate Agriculture Committee. We look forward to a vote before the full Senate soon.”
