1 lb GROUND TURKEY
1 to 2 Cloves garlic, crushed
1/2 tsp dried thyme leaves
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1/4 tsp pepper
1 to 2 tsp canola oil, optional for step 3
Combine all ingredients and mix gently. Shape into burgers about 1/2-inch thick.
On a lightly greased broiling pan, about 4-inches from heat, in a preheated broiler, broil turkey burgers about 5 minutes per side, turning only once. Cook until no longer pink in center and the internal temperature registers 165 degrees F.
OR, to sauté, in a heavy skillet, heat 1 to 2 teaspoons oil over moderately high heat until hot but not smoking and sauté burgers, turning only once, until cooked through, about 3-5 minutes on each side or until the internal temperature registers 165 degrees F.
