Put a little fun in your bun! Herb turkey burgers are a twist on a backyard favorite that really bring the flavors of summertime right to your table.
1 lb lean ground turkey
1 c Arugula
1/2 c chopped shallots
3/4 c julienned sun-dried tomatoes in oil, drained
1/2 c Italian seasoned bread crumbs
1 tsp basil, dried
1 tsp oregano, dried
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
Aioli sauce (optional)
2 cloves garlic
1/2 c mayonnaise
1 Tbsp Lemon juice, fresh
Place ground turkey in a large bowl.
Chop arugula and shallots. Add arugula, shallots, sun-dried tomatoes, bread crumbs, and seasonings to the ground turkey. Mix well.
Form 4 equal-size patties. Wash hands after handling raw patties.
Grill turkey burgers on an oiled rack 5-6 inches over glowing coals. Grill about 6 minutes on each side or until internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Serve on whole wheat buns. Top burgers with aioli aauce, if desired, arugula and sliced tomatoes.
Aioli Sauce:
Sauce can be made ahead or mixed together while burgers are cooking.
Finely mince or press garlic and place in a small bowl.
Add remaining ingredients and whisk together.
