5 lbs LEAN GROUND TURKEY
2/3 c onion, finely chopped
2/3 c mushrooms, cleaned and finely chopped
1/3 c steak sauce
5 Medium jalapeno peppers, grilled for 3 minutes, seeded & finely chopped
3 tbsp fresh cilantro, chopped
Freshly ground black pepper To Taste
12 Crusty rolls, split and toasted
Cilantro mayonnaise As needed
Romaine lettuce leaves As needed
Sliced red ripe tomatoes As needed
Turkey Burgers
In a large bowl, combine burger ingredients and mix gently, taking care not to overwork the ground turkey.
Divide into 7-ounce portions and form into ¾-inch thick patties.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours.
Place turkey burgers on preheated medium-high grill. Cook 4-inches from the heat source for about 2-3 minutes per side to lightly brown the exterior.
Reduce heat to medium and continue to grill to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, about 7-8 minutes.
Service
Serve in toasted rolls with cilantro mayonnaise, lettuce and tomatoes.
